Christmas Trees at the Empress Hotel

On Saturday it was "Christmas trees at the Empress day" according to our Advent Calendar! So off we went to first grab cups of the necessary candy cane hot chocolate from Tim Hortons, then downtown to do one of my very favourite Christmas Traditions!
Every year the Fairmont Empress Hotel displays dozens and dozens of Christmas trees throughout the hotel. Each one has been decorated by a different local business or charity. You get to vote for your favourite and all the proceeds of voting donations go towards the BC Children's Hospital.
The trees are spread over a couple different floors so you really get to have a good wander, and every tree is completely different, and they sometimes don't have much to do with Christmas at all! This year there were about 7 Frozen themed Christmas trees, Including one dressed up entirely like Olaf!
It's such a nice evening or late night date because the hotel never closes and you get to be out of the cold doing something festive and cozy!

I didn't take a ton of photos because I knew they wouldn't turn out all that fantastic, but I did have some favourites!

I thought this one with all the gold and turquoise was so pretty!

What's one of your favourite Christmas traditions?
